Whitney Matney has been an Attorney with BMT Law Firm since 2014 and became a partner in 2019. A Northwest Arkansas native, Whitney grew up in Springdale and brings a deep understanding of the local community to her practice.

Whitney represents clients in a wide range of matters, including family law, child custody disputes, adoptions, guardianships, criminal defense, personal injury, insurance claims, breach of contract, wrongful death, and medical malpractice. She is a certified civil and domestic relations mediator, and a certified attorney ad Litem, and is regularly appointed to represent the best interests of children in contested and high-conflict cases.

Whitney earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Arkansas before obtaining her Juris Doctor from the University of Arkansas School of Law in Fayetteville. Her background in psychology brings added perspective to complex legal matters involving family dynamics, credibility issues, and emotionally sensitive disputes.

Prior to entering private practice, Whitney served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable John Scott in Benton County, where she gained experience in domestic relations and civil litigations, and developed a strong foundation in courtroom procedure and judicial decision-making.

Whitney is committed to providing thoughtful, thorough representation and believes strongly in ensuring access to justice for all individuals, regardless of the nature of the allegations or legal issues involved. She is also actively involved in community service throughout Northwest Arkansas.
